Ten questions → one diagnosis

Stay or leave?

Quitting your job, starting your own business, staying where you are. If the crossroads has been open for months, the problem is almost never courage: a good decision needs five ingredients, the five Ds, and usually only one is missing. Ten questions to find out which one is missing for you. At the end you get one single move, cut to fit that D.

The method

Five Ds, one decision.

They come from the 5D Method, born out of more than ten years of decisions taken in the field. Every well-made decision goes through all five. When one is missing, the crossroads stays open for months.

Data · "Do I know the facts?"

The real facts of your situation, before the opinions: true numbers, dates, constraints. A few lines on a page are enough, as long as they are true.

Direction · "Do I know where I want to go?"

Where you want to get to, based on your values, not on someone else's expectations. A crossroads is judged by the destination, not by the two roads.

Decision · "Do I have a criterion?"

The right choice doesn't exist: what exists is your choice, signed by you. You need a criterion defined beforehand, with a date next to it.

Destination · "Do I know the first step?"

The choice becomes movement: concrete steps and a calendar. A decision without a date remains a good intention.

Desire · "What do I actually want?"

The engine of everything: what you want, net of what you should want. Without it, every plan folds at the first bad week.

The five Ds work together: if one is truly missing, reinforcing the others achieves little. That is why generic advice left you exactly where you were: it was treating the wrong D.

The test

Think of the crossroads in front of you.

One only, the one that keeps you up at night. Answer from the gut: the first honest answer is worth more than the right one.

One honest thing before you start: the five Ds are not a psychometric test. They are the method I use with the people I work with, born in the field: take them as a compass to understand where to start.

This test comes from a book.

The Stay-or-Leave Test comes from "Stay or Leave?", the 5D Method for deciding at a crossroads. The five Ds you just measured are the five steps of the method: in the book you walk through them one by one, tools included, all the way to a decision with your name on it. It comes out in Italian in August 2026 and in English in September 2026: you can already reserve either one.

Who is behind this

Dr. Donato De Tullio. For more than ten years I have been running projects in large European multinationals. I have crossed that crossroads myself: after 8 years in science I worked as a warehouse worker at Decathlon and rebuilt a career from zero. Today I manage 8 logistics centers across Europe. It's all on my LinkedIn.

Alongside my job as a manager, I help people who run their own project decide and move, with the 5D Method: data, direction, decision, destination, desire. If after the test you want a steady partner at your side, there is Decision Lab, the one-on-one decision-making program.

Taken the test?

Let's go through it together.

30 minutes, free, over a virtual coffee. You tell me about your crossroads, what the test said, and we look at the first move. In English, Italian or German.

I stopped asking for email addresses in exchange for resources: the test is yours, the result too, no contact details required. If it helped, have a look at the English home, or the full site in Italian, and we can always talk over a coffee.
